Cílem příspěvku není téma vyčerpávající syntéza, ale stručná rekapitulace nynějšího stavu znalostí dějinných počátků tohoto mikroregionu historického jádra Prahy. Doplňuje ji i bilance pramenné základny – přehled bádání a používaná metodika terénní exkavace ; Participation in ongoing projects necessitated an update of information published to date on the Early Medieval development of Malá Strana, an area below the castle of Přemyslid rulers where a fortified suburbium was located. The goal of this paper is not to provide an exhaustive synthesis of knowledge; instead, the work aims to present a concise review of the latest knowledge regarding the historical beginnings of this micro-region of the historical centre of Prague.
